Build on your Macintosh
Chatintosh includes its own classic 68K C toolchain. No separate MPW download or installation is needed.
Enable coding
- Open Chatintosh from your Macintosh hard disk.
- Choose File → Enable coding tools and approve the permission dialog.
- On first use, Chatintosh prepares its bundled compiler files on that disk. This can take a few minutes on a classic Mac.
- Start a new conversation and describe the program you want.
Older saved Macs need the current Chatintosh app: use Update app for instructions. Updating the application preserves your pairing and documents. Keep your work on Macintosh HD, not the temporary Chatintosh Update disk.
Permission and safety
Classic Mac OS has no process sandbox. Generated programs and build scripts can affect the guest disk. Save your work before enabling coding. Mouse and keyboard automation additionally requires the browser's session-only checkbox; your own input interrupts it.
The coding agent is under active end-to-end testing. A compiler installation does not by itself prove an autonomous build succeeded.
